FitStamp Privacy Policy
FitStamp is a free Android app for manually recording walking, running, cycling, and sleep entries. It has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. This policy describes what the app stores, how it interacts with Health Connect and Android backup, and the choices available to you.
Information FitStamp handles
Information you enter
When you create an activity or sleep entry, FitStamp handles the values you enter, such as activity type, date and time, duration, distance, steps, and sleep information. FitStamp also stores the activity history you create and preferences such as saved entry times.
Local app storage
FitStamp stores its app history in a Room database on your device and stores preferences using Android app preferences. The app does not operate a FitStamp account service or its own FitStamp server for collecting or synchronizing this information.
Android backup and device transfer: The app’s current Android backup rules include its Room database for Android Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer. Depending on your Android version, device settings, and backup service, Android may back up or transfer that app data. This operating-system feature is controlled by your device and backup settings; it is not a FitStamp-operated cloud service. Do not describe FitStamp data as guaranteed to remain only on one physical device while these rules are enabled.
Health Connect
FitStamp integrates with Google Health Connect. If you choose to grant permission and use the export/save feature, FitStamp writes manually entered exercise or sleep records to Health Connect. Depending on the entry, records may include exercise session type and time, sleep session time, distance, and step count. Records are marked as manually entered.
FitStamp requests Health Connect read permissions for exercise sessions, steps, distance, and sleep sessions as well as corresponding write permissions. The current FitStamp implementation does not read or import Health Connect records. Read permissions are not used by the app to retrieve your health history. Health Connect permission grants can be reviewed or revoked in Android Settings or the Health Connect app. Health Connect manages the records you share with it under Google’s own policies and controls; consult Google’s Health Connect privacy information for details about that service.
FitStamp may check whether Health Connect is available and whether the relevant permissions are granted. It does not need Health Connect access for entries you keep only in FitStamp’s local history.
How information is used
FitStamp uses the information you provide to display and manage your manually created activity history, remember your preferences, and—when you choose—write the selected records to Health Connect. FitStamp does not use this information for advertising, profiling, or sale.
Network connections and third parties
The Android manifest declares internet access. FitStamp does not send your activity history or preferences to a FitStamp-operated server. Android’s backup and device-transfer services may handle app data as described above. Health Connect handles records you choose to write to it.
The Settings screen includes an optional link to donate to Future Tech Skills Inc (FTSI), a nonprofit organization, at https://www.ftsi.org/donate. Choosing that link opens an external browser or compatible app. Any information you provide on that external site is handled by FTSI and its service providers under their own privacy terms, not by FitStamp. FitStamp does not receive or store donation payment details.
Data retention and deletion
Your FitStamp entries and preferences remain in app storage until you delete them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall FitStamp. You can delete individual entries using the app’s history controls. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the local app data, but may not remove data already included in an Android backup or transferred to another device. Manage or delete Android backups through your device/Google backup settings. Records already written to Health Connect are managed separately there; deleting a FitStamp entry does not necessarily delete its Health Connect copy. Review Health Connect to manage or delete those records.
Your choices
- Use FitStamp without granting Health Connect permissions; Health Connect export will not be available.
- Review or revoke FitStamp’s Health Connect permissions in Android or Health Connect settings.
- Delete entries in FitStamp, clear its app storage, or uninstall the app.
- Adjust Android backup and device-transfer settings on your device.
- Choose whether or not to open the optional external donation link.
Children’s privacy
FitStamp is a general-purpose fitness logging app and is not designed to collect personal information from children through an online account or server. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of Android and Health Connect.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when FitStamp’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date above indicates the latest revision. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to future use.
